Red Supplements Protein Powder vs OhYeah! Total Protein System Review

red supplements protein vs oh Yeah

This Red Supplements Protein Powder vs. OhYeah! Total Protein System review will help you decide which of these two protein powders is best.

OhYeah! is one of the most popular protein powders on the market today. It’s been my favorite protein powder for almost a year due to its combination of tasting good and being packed with protein.

Red Supplements’ protein powder promises to deliver effectiveness AND great taste as well.

I tested and reviewed OhYeah! Total Protein System’s Chocolate Milkshake protein powder and also Red Supplements’ White Vanilla Ice Cream Elite Whey Protein.

How do they stack up against each other? Which of the two is your best investment?

Read on to find out!

Comparing Chocolate To Vanilla

First of all, the obvious fact is that this comparison is between a chocolate-flavored protein powder and a vanilla-flavored one.

Is this a fair comparison?

Yes it is! A comparison between two different flavors is absolutely perfect if you’re comparing how rich in flavor each one is to the taste that it promises to deliver.

As you’ll soon see, one of these powders tastes exactly like what it promises to taste like while the other one doesn’t quite deliver.

Companies And Trust

Before we talk about taste, let’s talk about the makers of each protein powder.

OhYeah! Total Protein System is produced by a company called OhYeah! Nutrition.

Their website doesn’t provide details about the company. There’s not much to say about them, other than that the company has a good reputation based on what I’ve experienced for myself and what I’ve heard from others.

On the other hand, as I wrote about in my thorough review of Red Supplements Protein Powder, Red Supplements is owned by two men who have a reputation for providing extremely high-quality products AND helping people while doing so.

Red Supplements is owned by Chris Deoudes and Nick Kelly (who writes under the pen name Victor Pride). Combined, they have decades of experience in weight training, nutrition, and achieving peak performance.

In addition to that, I have seen them first-hand take an active interest in personally helping people through social media.

If honesty and integrity, and supporting small business owners who take a personal interest in truly helping people is important to you – then Red Supplements Protein Powder has a clear advantage in this regard.

Red Supplements Protein Powder vs. OhYeah! Total Protein System Review: Cost

How much will you pay for each of these, and which one is the best value?

A 2.4 pound tub of OhYeah! Costs $29.49 plus shipping. A 1.5 pound bag of Red Supplements protein powder costs $37.99 plus shipping.

There are twenty-one servings in the OhYeah! Package and eighteen servings in Red Supplements’ package.

So, the cost per serving is $1.40 for OhYeah! And $2.11 for Red Supplements.

In other words, Red Supplements is priced as a premium product which means it HAS to deliver on taste and quality.

Does it?

Red Supplements vs. OhYeah!: Ingredients

To decide if a premium product is better than a standard one, a good starting point is the ingredient list.

OhYeah! Contains over fifteen ingredients, some of which are very hard to pronounce. On the plus side, the chocolate flavoring in it comes from Dutch process cocoa.

Red Supplements’ protein powder, on the other hand, contains only four ingredients.

Whey protein concentrate, dextrose, natural flavors, and stevia. That’s it.

Their website states that it’s flavored with real vanilla.

Red Supplements’ protein powder is clearly superior in terms of purity of ingredients and this alone more than makes up for the premium price.

What about the taste?

Which One Tastes Better?

OhYeah! Protein powder is flavored with Dutch process cocoa. You will actually taste the real chocolate flavor.

There is also an aftertaste of an artificial quality. This is likely due to the additional ingredients in the protein powder.

If your taste buds aren’t too sensitive you probably won’t notice this. It doesn’t taste terrible at all, it’s pretty enjoyable.

But as for Red Supplements protein powder, you’ll be shocked by what you DON’T taste.

As soon as you take the first sip and you’re expecting a slight artificial aftertaste, you’ll find that there is none. No sickly-sweet or metallic, bitter taste.

The pure vanilla flavoring and sweetness from the stevia are perfectly combined in this mix. Red Supplements did an excellent job getting the ratio just right.

In the taste comparison, Red Supplements’ protein powder wins hands-down.

Red Supplements Protein Powder vs. Oh Yeah! Total Protein System Review: How Much Protein In Each Serving?

OhYeah! States that they deliver 32 grams of protein per serving. Red Supplements contains 24.65 grams per serving.

A serving size of OhYeah! Is 52 grams, while Red Supplements’ serving size is 38 grams. That’s a big difference, as you can see in the photo below.

red supplements protein powder

You need a much bigger serving size of OhYeah!

Per serving size, you’ll get almost sixty-two percent of protein with OhYeah! Vs. Sixty-five percent with Red Supplements.

BUT – the truth is that you get even more than that.

When Red Supplements sent their protein powder to a lab for independent analysis they found that each serving actually contains over sixty-SEVEN percent protein. (See for yourself).

Red Supplements’ protein powder contains a higher percentage of protein per serving than OhYeah!

Red Supplements also comes out ahead in this regard.

How Many Calories and Carbs In Each?

Chances are that if you’re using a protein powder you’re also monitoring your calories, or your carbs, or both.

Each serving of OhYeah! Contains 210 calories and 8 grams of carbohydrates which include 2 grams of sugars.

Red Supplements, by comparison, has only 146 calories per serving and a little less than 8 grams of carbohydrates which includes 4.5 grams of sugars.

Total carbs are the same, Red Supplements contains 2 more grams of sugars, but has WAY fewer calories than OhYeah!.

This is an easy comparison, 210 calories compared to only 146 calories. Red Supplements easily is the better option in this regard.

Storage

One more point that you’ll find interesting is that OhYeah! Is stored in the typical large plastic jugs which are common to protein powders.

Red Supplements, on the other hand, is packaged in a sleek food-grade plastic/foil pouch.

As you use up your supply of Red Supplements protein powder your container will shrink!

This is a great feature if you’re short on cabinet space or you’re tired of bulky jars of protein powder taking up space on your counter.

The Final Verdict

OhYeah! Is priced more competitively than Red Supplements’ protein powder.

Red Supplements’ pricing is for a premium-level product while still remaining affordable.

In return for the investment, you get more protein per serving, fewer calories, and MUCH better taste with Red Supplements’ protein powder.

OhYeah! Is not bad at all. In fact, it was one of my top two favorite protein powders until I tried Red Supplements’ protein powder.

Red Supplements protein powder is my new favorite.

Once you try it you will see for yourself how much difference simply, high-quality ingredients can make.

Best regards,

P.S.

Red Supplements also offers chocolate and strawberry flavored protein powders. You will save even more money if you order the “Neapolitan 3-Pack Bundle” which contains all three flavors for a lower price than buying them separately.
